Neg Reg Addresses to TEACH Grant Proposal

    Last week, the first round of negotiated rulemaking convened with the final day focusing on TEACH grants. The Department of Education’s goal for the proposed changes is to reduce grant-to-loan conversions and improve program outcomes. Negotiators made several recommendations throughout the sessions with respect to service and counseling requirements, clarifying regulatory language, and suspension requests. The second round of negotiated rulemaking will be held on February 12-13, 2019.
