    This webpage serves as a hub to view CGS’s communications and resources related to Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 advocacy. CGS will continue to keep its members apprised of the appropriations process as Congress turns its attention to FY 2022 and will be collaborating with its colleague organizations to urge strengthened support for programs of interest.

     

     

    Latest Action: FY 2021 Omnibus and COVID-19 Supplemental Funding

    On December 27, President Trump signed into law a joint spending package that included final spending levels for FY 2021 and COVID-19 supplemental emergency funding. Passed on December 21, the legislation is the result of weeks of negotiations between House and Senate leadership. CGS has created a summary of major provisions of interest to graduate education included in the FY 2021 appropriations omnibus language. CGS has published a separate summary on major provisions in the COVID-19 supplemental language.

    CGS Commends Passage of FY 2021 Commerce, Justice, Science Bill (7/17/20)

    CGS sent a letter to the leadership of the House Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science for bipartisan passage of their FY 2021 bill. The bill includes several investments in research and training, including the National Science Foundation.

     

    CGS Applauds Passage of FY 2021 LHHS-ED Bill (7/17/20)

    CGS sent a letter to the leadership of the House Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Related Agencies for bipartisan passage of their FY 2021 bill. The bill proposes increases for including student financial aid and research.
