Building a Healthy Research Culture: Where to Start
November 2, 2023
2:00-3:00pm ET
Academic research culture has been consistently identified as an issue of concern by graduate students and postdocs as they complete their studies and consider pursuing research careers. Developing initiatives to promote positive expressions of research culture in university contexts is a priority for many academic leaders, but it can be unclear where to start. This webinar will focus on the process behind a new initiative from the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto, aimed at improving the experience of working in research team environments. Attendees will learn about the successes and challenges of developing the Healthy Labs & Research Teams program. We will identify key decisions, processes, and partners involved in building trust and generating momentum, and explore the strategic and operational considerations for those interested in building similar initiatives within their own unique institutional research ecosystems.
