      Colleagues,

      At UNCG we’re considering requiring admitted graduate students to either pay an enrollment deposit or register for classes upon admission as a means to confirm their intent to enroll.

      I wonder if anyone has any experience implementing something similar.

      Have programs that require enrollment deposits seen a decrease in enrollment?

        At Indiana University of Pennsylvania, we do not have an enrollment deposit requirement; only the $50 application fee.

          Wright State University does not require a deposit. Graduate students can register for classes upon admission, but it’s not required.

            At the University of Nevada, Reno, we only have the application fee, no enrollment deposit

              At ECU, we have 2 health sciences programs with high demand (OT & SLP) that have chosen to do an enrollment deposit, but not for any other programs. I don’t know that our leadership would be in favor of it as it presents another ‘barrier’ to enrollment.

                At Rowan University, we do not require enrollment deposits, but we do our projections based on whether or not a deposit has been made.
