New CGS Publication on Master’s Education

By Kelley Karnes

CGS is excited to announce the release of a new publication, Master’s Education: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Student-Centered Programs. The book revises and replaces an earlier guide to master’s education published nearly twenty years ago, providing new data and guidance and recent examples from CGS member institutions.

Master’s education remains the largest segment of graduate education in the United States. It also remains understudied and misunderstood. This volume addresses the gap in our understanding of master’s degrees, highlighting best practices for faculty and administrators working to support the success of their students. Chapters focus on creating new master’s degrees, student recruitment, master’s admissions, creating supportive learning environments, and delivering and assessing academic programs.

A digital copy of the book is available to all CGS members at no charge through the CGS publications store. Remember that you must be logged into your CGS account to receive this member benefit.
