Authenticity of Academic Credentials

CGS recently received a notice from a member concerning issues with degrees and transcripts validated by a third party. A student who validated the credentials through the third party, and began graduate study, had in fact submitted a fabricated undergraduate diploma and transcript. On behalf of CGS, I’m writing to ask whether other member institutions have encountered this issue recently and if so, how you have handled it.
