Held in Portland, Oregon on July 12, 2025, the New Deans’ Institute is open to all but is tailored to those who have been in their graduate dean role for two years or less. Our Summer Workshop program, running from July 13-16, 2025, is an excellent opportunity to engage with colleagues, share insights, and collaborate on approaches to address current challenges. Meeting Highlights

The 2025 Summer Workshop program promises to be both informative and engaging, featuring a range of timely topics and practical guidance for both new and experienced deans. Plenary sessions will delve into crucial issues facing graduate education today including: productive communication on campuses, leadership in challenging times, and creating inclusive learning and mentoring environments.  Additionally, the meeting will offer sessions on timely topics such as strategies for securing philanthropic support, graduate student mental health, and others. Attendees will have the opportunity to network in sessions and attend an optional networking cruise on the Willamette River.
