Hi, Mary. This is an issue I worked on at East Carolina University. The short version is that we developed job descriptions for GRAs and GTAs with sample job duties. When contracts come through the Graduate School, we review the job duties to ensure that they are aligned. When they are not, we redirect the programs to use the hourly student worker job codes instead of assistantship codes.
