Susan Carvalho has served as Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School at The University of Alabama since 2016. Prior to that she held various administrative positions at the University of Kentucky including interim dean of the Graduate School and associate provost for internationalization. She has also served as Director of Middlebury College's Spanish School, senior advisor to the American Council on Education's Internationalization Laboratory, and an ACE Fellow. She is a professor of Spanish American cultural studies with a specialization in gender, geography, and power in contemporary fiction.
