* Annual membership dues for the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) are based upon total graduate enrollment, which is defined as the total number of students enrolled (first-time and continuing students) in graduate certificate, education specialist, master’s, or doctoral programs for the fall term at the institution. Total graduate enrollment excludes
students enrolled in the following comprehensive list of first-professional programs: Chiropractic (D.C. or D.C.M.), Dentistry (D.D.S. or D.M.D.), Law (L.L.B., J.D.), Medicine (M.D.), Optometry (O.D.), Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), Pharmacy (Pharm.D.), Podiatry (D.P.M., D.P., or Pod.D.), Theology (M.Div., M.H.L., B.D., or Ordination), and Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.). Total graduate enrollment includes all other graduate-level programs, including programs in other professional fields such as health sciences and business. CGS uses the most recent total graduate enrollment data collected by the annual “CGS/ETS Survey of Graduate Enrollment & Degrees” to determine annual CGS membership dues. Total graduate enrollment data for institutions that do not respond to the annual “CGS/ETS Survey of Graduate Enrollment & Degrees” are acquired directly from either the graduate dean (or equivalent), the graduate school web page, or national data made available by the U.S. Department of Education.
