Download the 2026-2027 CGS Federal Policy Agenda

The 2026-2027 CGS Federal Policy Agenda is now available for members to download on the CGS website. The agenda outlines CGS federal policy priorities including federal funding, graduate student support, research, and international education to ensure the United States remains a global leader in science, technology, and innovation.

CGS members are encouraged to use the Federal Policy Agenda  to advocate for graduate education with federal policymakers and to ensure that issues of importance to the graduate education community are a part of the national conversation.

This resource can also be shared with campus leaders, academic deans, and the government and public affairs departments. Sharing the resource widely will help our community achieve greater alignment in our advocacy for federal policies that support access to graduate education for all students, increase investment in basic research at universities, and strengthen career readiness.
