Nominate an Outstanding Dissertation

CGS, in partnership with ProQuest, part of Clarivate, is accepting nominations for the prestigious CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards, which recognize outstanding scholarly achievement in two fields. The nomination deadline is July 3, 2026.

First presented in 1981, these awards honor individuals whose dissertations represent truly original work and make a significant contribution to their fields. Each year, scholars are chosen by an award committee for the depth, rigor, and impact of their research. The fields of competition for 2026 are:

• Mathematics, Physical Sciences & Engineering
• Social Sciences

Institutions are encouraged to nominate candidates whose work exemplifies the highest standards of graduate scholarship and innovation. This is an opportunity to recognize emerging scholars whose research is shaping the future of their disciplines.
