Washington, DC — Today, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) rescinded memorandum (M-2513), which would have “temporarily paused the obligation and disbursement of funds for all federal grants, loans, and federal assistance programs and other agency activities.”

The rescission of this OMB memo is welcome news for CGS and the graduate education community. As we all know, federal funding for graduate education is vital to the advancement of fundamental scientific research, innovations in medicine and technology, and meeting state and national workforce needs. Graduate education impacts communities across the United States and provides the workers needed in crucial roles in K-12 education, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, and other fields.

The CGS staff will continue to closely monitor the release of future executive actions by the Trump administration.
