On June 10, 2024, the House Appropriations Committee passed the FY 2025 Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill. This bill eliminates funding for the U.S. Department of Education’s Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) program and the Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program. Given the importance of these programs, CGS will send a letter to the House of Representatives to encourage appropriations of at least $25 million and $80 million, respectively. To make the case for the importance of these programs, CGS would appreciate success stories of students that have benefited from these programs. We would like to include some of these stories in the letter to House leaders. If you have a success story, you can post it here on the Deans Discussion Board or email it to me at etapia@cgs.nche.edu or my colleague Amy Scott at amscott@cgs.nche.edu
